Session FAQs
What should I expect in my session?
My sessions are all outdoors in natural light (why? See next question!). I like to have fun in my sessions, let the kids (and the dogs!) get comfortable with me and play. The atmosphere is relaxed, and in order to bring out everyone’s authentic selves I like to connect and make everyone at ease.
Why are sessions only during sunset or sunrise?
Short answer is the light! The magic in the light happens beginning 30 minutes before sunrise and about 45 minutes before sunset. My goal is to give you the beautiful images with the soft golden light, with the sun in front of or behind you, and this can only be done during these times near the mountains. If we are in a more urban location (the city of Denver or Boulder for example), the timing here is more flexible. ** Start times will be adjusted 7 dates before session date based on sunrise and sunset times.
What should I wear?
What you are confident in is what you should wear! If you need some guidance as a family, it’s always best to compliment each other, not match. I am happy to give suggestions and websites to help you as you decide on your wardrobe.
What are your favorite locations?
In Boulder, I love South Mesa Trailhead, Chautauqua, South Boulder Creek Trailhead, Shanahan Ridge, NCAR Trail. In Denver, I love the Cheesman or City Park areas, or any urban setting downtown in RINO, LODO. I am open to suggestions as well, and finding a location that will have incredible light and beautiful surroundings.
