Sure.  Necessary to lift my state of mind?  Absolutely.  So I closed on the sale of my condo in January of 2021, put all of my belongings in storage, got in my car and took off with my dog Pearl.  We travelled all over the US, but when we landed in Colorado I fell in love - with the state.  We stayed in different areas of Colorado for a few months, and when it came time to return to Chicago I could not pull the trigger, so Pearl and I moved to Boulder, Colorado permanently.

There are always challenges when moving across the country not knowing many people but all in all this has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I've ever done in my life.  The beauty of this state has me in awe on a daily basis, and I can't wait to photograph more people with these beautiful backdrops.  Here are some of my favorite photos of clients I've taken thus far.

The weather was a little overcast which was great for the time of morning we were there.  The flowers were beautiful and the kiddos were happy and ready to go!  Annabelle's curly blonde hair, Stella's awesome giggles, some dancing and some running, and the results were, in my mind, just about perfect.

We scheduled our shoot for the morning at Fullerton Beach.  Beautiful summer day, just enough shade to cover the sun, perfect clouds, adorable family, and the results are some of my favorite pictures to date.  I so wish they didn't have to move because this family is one I would love to shoot time and time again!

Color, leaves changing, brisk air - those are just a few things I love about the fall.  Chicago is a photographer's mecca this time of the year, with the beautiful leaves against the skyline, the Lincoln Park Nature Walk, and many other parks that are in their prime time of the year.

I was crazy busy in October, shooting on the weekends, working my day job during the week, and editing at night.  It has all been worth it though, to hang out with these awesome families, see adorable kiddos, and give people a little bit of a pause in time.

Speaking of the workshop a couple of weeks ago, I came out of it inspired and reinvigorated.  Tamara Lackey gave us her all, and went through numerous topics such as lighting, posing, business plans, marketing and more.  And the "behind the scenes" picture below?  Tamara Lackey chose that for the cover of her new Family Posing Playbook.  I'm beyond thrilled!!!  And I am very excited to use my new skills in upcoming shoots this month.
